Upcoming teaching

Tomorrow at 7 pm (Thursday, February 16) I am beginning a 12 week series on John’s First, Second and Third Epistles. All are welcome as it is the first night of the course tomorrow. The class meets at Maranatha Chapel and starts at 7 pm.

This Sunday evening I will be speaking at the Maranatha Chapel’s Sunday evening service. The meeting begins at 6 pm and I will be speaking on the subject, “Using Prophecy”. Prophecy is important but it should not result in just a bunch of head knowledge of future events. This message will seek to identify what the practical application of prophecy is for us today. All are welcome..and “all’ means “all” 😉

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

As you may know, I will be teaching “The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit” for the Maranatha Bible College beginning Tuesday, September 6 and for 14 weeks thereafter.

This course will be an in-depth study of the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit.   We will examine the Holy Spirit’s role in providing us with the Bible and how God still speaks even today. We will explore the role of the Holy Spirit in our salvation through the new birth and in our perseverance through his indwelling, sealing and assurance.  We will learn what the Bible teaches us about the Holy Spirit’s guidance in our lives and about spiritual gifts. Finally, we will review the effect of the Holy Spirit in our fruit and also the sins against the Holy Spirit.  We will discover many opportunities to apply the truths we learn to our everyday lives.

I believe this topic is both timely and fundamental. Consequently, to make the class as available as possible, I will be repeating the Tuesday classes on Thursdays at Maranatha Chapel

Thus the identical course is offered twice: Tuesdays from 3 to 5 pm and Thursdays from 7 to 9 pm. To register, just show up for the first class on either Tuesday afternoon or Thursday evening.

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit class offered this fall

Beginning on Tuesday, September 6 from 3 to 5 pm and again on Thursday, September 10 fro 7 to 9 pm, I will be teaching “The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit.”

This class is offered through the Maranatha Bible College, but is open for anyone to attend. It will last 14 weeks.

The reason there are two start dates is because I will be teaching the identical material on each of Tuesday afternoons and Thursday evenings so that I can accommodate as many schedules as I can.

Walk-in registrations will be permitted the day each class starts, that is, on October 6 and October and October 8. Advance registrations will be made available on the next two Sunday services.

The class will cover such topics as: who is the Holy Spirit and what is His relationship to God the Father and Jesus the Son? What is a baptism of the Holy Spirit? What does it mean when the Holy Spirit fills you or when he anoints you? What is Holy Spirit’s role in God’s plan of the ages and And many other topics such as Fruit of the Spirit, Gifts of the Spirit?

I hope some of you will be able to attend.

Two Kinds of Wisdom, James 3:13-18

Here is a link to my message last night to the Maranatha Men about Wisdom from James 3:13-18. True, godly wisdom, comes from above and is evidenced by our character and conduct in our relationships with other people.  The message starts about  halfway through the service, so you can advance the video if you don’t want to wait.
