Today I am off to Israel. My second time there. The first time was with Todd Pickett and it was 1981.

This week we will be learning how to live the Christian life! Our passage is Colossians 2;6-7:

6 Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.

Tomorrow night in our Colossians study, we will be discussing the Gospel! How cool is that? What a good opportunity to bring a friend.

Colossians 1:12-14
12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.
13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Our passage tonight is Colossians 1:3-8

3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you,

4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints,

5 because of the hope laid up for you in heaven.

Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel,

6 which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing—

as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth,

7 just as you learned it from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant. He is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf

8 and has made known to us your love in the Spirit.

I will be leading a study of the book of Colossians on Monday nights, 7 to 8:30, in the Maranatha Bookstore, starting a week from Monday, that is, January 14. All are welcome.
