The Spring Semester of the Maranatha Bible College I have agreed to teach First and Second Thessalonians. These letters are crucial to our understanding of prophetic events to come, especially the so-called “Rapture” and the Great Tribulation. The class will begin some date in February. I will update this blog as time “draweth nigh”.

New Bible Study being offered on The Epistles of John
August 25, 2017
Announcement, John, Maranatha Bible College 2 Comments
Lord Willing, beginning next week, I will be teaching a Bible Study on John’s First, Second and Third Epistles. The study will be on Tuesdays from 4 pm to 6 pm at Maranatha Chapel, room C210.
COURSE DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES
This class will be an in-depth study of the Apostle John’s First, Second and Third letters to the Church at large. Considered universally as among the very best (and most quotable) obooks of the Bible to be written. As such, its emphasis on warning the readers of difficult times ahead and how to identify unbelievers, false teacher and even antichrists who are in their midst. Several of the passages in John’s letters are difficult to interpret.
At the same time, the letters are unrivaled in their discussions on love and the way to have a close personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Each time we meet we will discuss the letters word by word. However, each week as homework we will be required to read all of 1, 2 and 3 John for statements on particular issues or themes, helping us understand the letters as whole letters and in context. Some of the other homework will include the examination of Johannine themes in the Gospel of John that are addressed. Upon completing this course, you should be able to (1) explain the letters overall, (2) interpret the difficult passages and (3) understand many of the parallels that appear in the Gospel of John.
The Bible Study will last just 8 weeks and is being offered through the Maranatha Bible College. Registered students of the Bible College will receive full credit for the class but guests who are not part of the Bible Colleg are more than welcome.
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.

I’ve taught my “How to Read the Bible Seminar” 7 times in last 10 years. Each time I was impressed by how much hunger there is for even the most elemental assistance to read God’s Word in a way that renews our love for Christ daily. With that aim, I teach a simple way of reading the Bible as a daily devotion and reading the Bible interactively, by selecting questions designed to strengthen your knowledge of God. Sometimes I’ve also benefited from the efforts of attendees. The attached is an example of that. Please put the attached Bible Questions Read Reference to good use!

Announcement, HTRB, Seminar Leave a comment
I will be teaching my seminar on how to enjoy reading your bible again for Maranatha Chapel (but all are welcome) on Saturday morning, 8:30 to 11:30 AM, June 3, 2017.
There is no charge for the seminar and it will be held at Maranatha Chapel, San Diego, in the Fellowship Hall.
The seminar is primarily intended for those who seek to start or improve a daily, devotional Bibe reading habit.
It is not about “studying” the Bible, it is about enjoying the time in God’s word so that one will continue in reading it, not getting discouraged or bogged down.
I look forward to seeing some of you on June 3, at 8:30 AM
