You may be surprised by the answers. There are kinds of arguments that just need to be avoided. There are also ways to engage in legitimate arguments with a sinful attitude, method, behavior motives. But Paul told Timothy he needed to verbally confront people causing quarrels in local churches, as long as he followed Paul’s requirement that the arguing be gentle, patient, kind and gracious.
